It's Show Time, Yuma!
Ten years after starting this organization, through many years of planning, prototyping, and fundraising, with a global pandemic thrown into the mix, we are finally ready to open our doors!
Late in the afternoon on April 20, we were issued our Certificate of Occupancy meaning we can finally open the doors of our historic but new-to-us building to the public at 200 S Main St. Our Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting is scheduled for Friday, April 21 at 4pm. Tickets for the open museum hours (4-7pm for this event) will go on sale starting at noon on Friday. Admission is $8/person age 1 and older (including adults).
Beginning Saturday, April 22, we will operate under our normal hours 10:00am-12:30pm and 1:30pm-4:00pm. The museum will be closed from 12:30-1:30pm for cleaning and lunch. Our regular days of operation during the school year are Thursday-Saturday. We will add Sunday hours beginning in May.
No food, gum, or beverages are permitted in the building except for breastmilk and formula for babies. Our facility strictly prohibits peanut and tree nuts due to staff and guest allergies.
Other exciting things coming up:
Memberships go on sale beginning in May. Stay tuned for more information.
SparkCamp 2023, our summer camp program, will begin registration soon.
Our gift shop will be opening in the next 4-6 weeks.
Our party room and facility will be available for rentals soon.
The completed Down By The River exhibit will be installed this summer.
Field trips are nearly full for this school year, but we will soon take reservations for summer field trips and 2023-24 school year field trips.
